(Endemic) SVL 65-73 mm; max SVL 77 mm
This medium-sized platy has an opaque lower eyelid which is divided by a series of vertical septa. The nasals are separated. The middle row of gulars is enlarged. The scales on the sides of the neck are spiny but not enlarged, and those on the back are all of similar size. The ventrals are in 17-21 llongitudinal rows. Males have 17-19 femoral pores. Females and juvenils are blackish-brown above, with three white longitudinal stripes. The tail is buffy brown, tinged with grey in the sides. The chin and throat are yellow with dark markings.The chest and belly is pinkish-brown, heavily marked with dark markings at the scale margins. Adult males have mottled orange and blackish head, with orange lips that extend onto the temporals. orange speckles on the neck merge with blue-green colour that separates th eneck from the blue back. The neck and sides of the body are ultramarine. The tail is bright brick red, the limbs blue-green above. The chin and throat are orange, with broken black collar. The belly is pale green to blue. Underside of limbs are blue to ultramarine with pinkish to reddish femoral pores. Habitat : Large sandstone outcrops in mesic savannah. Range : N.Province on the foothills of Blouberg
